June 10th, 2007Today we visited the Leeway House, a dedicated nursing facility in University Town for HIV patients.
The Leeway House is often described as a hospice house for AIDS patients. However, Becky, the woman who was our chaperone for the day, was careful to point out that the mission of the Leeway House has changed along with the changing nature of the AIDS epidemic in this country. No longer does it endeavor to only provide hospice care to terminally ill patients. In fact, she admitted that there is no one at the Leeway House that is “currently dying”. Residents range from late teens to “Pops”, who is in his 70s, and many have undetectable levels of the virus present in their bodies.hahaha awww freddy… think about it logically though… chances are that you and her would never get together, regardless of her sexual preference. my guess is that she has a decent number of male fans who recognize her talent. and i’m not saying that you’re not better than the rest of those guys, Secure Proxy - Secure Proxy

BUT I just have a feeling that even if she was straight, the two of you wouldn’t end up together.
* This week’s hidden clues: 1-NAMASTE in the painting in Widmore’s office - according to wikipedia, “Namaste” is sometimes used in the context of practicing Yoga as a greeting or goodbye, generally taken as an expression of good will. 2-Even though it was part of the flashback, we can assume that Desmond really DID see Charlie playing music on the street outside the Widmore building.
* Ending in Inviso-text: Desmond has been running around saving folks because he’s trying to save Charlie, who he’s convinced will die. And he tells Charlie. Not the news Charlie was hoping for, I bet.
Instead, Becky stressed that their mission is, when possible, to rehabilitate AIDS patients and re-introduce them as functioning members of society. She also pointed out that there are only 5 facilities like the Leeway House in the entire United States (two in New York, one in Seattle, and I missed the fourth location). When I asked what exactly she meant, she said that she was referring to facilities with advanced nursing capability dedicated to HIV and AIDS patients. Most hospice care, for example, is open to patients with any terminal illness, and not dedicated to the specific needs of AIDS patients.
